I’m so in awe of their ability to look at that dingy old kitchen and be able to visualise and create this stunning new one! So airy and bright. The subway tiling and wooden countertops, oh gosh I love it!

Sarah and Rupert have bought the most darling little cabin on Lake Michigan {talk about scenic!} but it wasn’t so darling to begin with…  They’re transforming the whole place, you can check out more of their DIY here. They’re a seriously talented couple!

Mothers Day Treat's

It’s Mothers Day this coming Sunday and to celebrate our gorgeous Mums, Brenton and I are having them both {and the rest of the brood} over to our house for a spot of afternoon tea. I going to bake up a storm and we hope the Mums will enjoy it. I haven’t narrowed down the menu yet, so I was scouring the web and here are a few scrummy baked treats that inspired me.  I reckon they might give you a bit of inspiration too! Are you going to bake anything for your Mum on Mothers Day?

I recently purchased a terrific new book, Domino – The Book of Decorating and I’ve started to work my way through it. It’s chock full of  inspiring rooms, how-to’s and insider secrets with all things interiors. One of their very first tips is to start a folder/cork board (Pinterest is the perfect solution) with pictures that inspire you to then narrow down your style.

There are always going to be some odd ones in there that you still love but you can generally start to tell what your style is by the majority of pictures you’ve collected. Looking through my  Pinterest boards I can totally see a style shining through –  minimal, clean lines, white/neutrals with natural elements.

I had so much fun actually nailing what I think my style my style is. It certainly gives me a clearer head to know what to look for when decorating.  I think it also helps me filter what I’ll love for a just a minute or a lifetime (and save a lot of money along the way…ahem).

Above are some of my favourites from my home interiors Pinterest boards. Can you see a similar theme through it too?

What do you think your interior style is?

Home Made Blueberry Pie

I hadn’t baked in a while and oh boy, did I make up for it this weekend! It appears I can only go so long without baking and then I binge… binge bake, haha is that even a thing?! Well if this pie is any indication of the result, I want to binge bake more often!

This is an adaption of ‘Nancy’s Prize-winning Blueberry Pie’ from the Magnolia Cookbook so you know it’s going to be delicious, it’s a prize winner!  Seriously we devoured it.  The filling was so deliciously rich and deep it just takes you to a whole new place. I could just swim in it!

I served the pie with vanilla whipped cream, just heaven. Make it, you won’t regret it!

Colour Collective

I wanted to share with you  a blog that I’ve only just recently discovered but has been around has been around for a while, Color Collective.  Graphic Designer, Lauren is the curator behind this ingenious blog. She gathers various works from designers, artists, photographers etc that she is inspired by and creates a colour pallet from them. Brilliant! It’s such a unique blog that breaks down beautiful things into their essence, colour. I love it and I’m sure you will too! xx

Pom Pom Bookmark

Isn’t this the most gorgeous idea! I love nothing more than curling up with a hot cup of tea and a good book – it’s just so blissfully relaxing.  How perfect would these little pom poms be sticking out of your favourite book, keeping your spot. Thanks so much to Design Mom for sharing this idea.  You can see the full post here.

Have a happy and safe weekend, friends xx

With my new role at work I’ve been spending lots of extra time in the city.

I love my hometown, it’s the perfect blend city hustle and bustle and country hospitality. I hope you like this video as much as I do and that it gives you a little peak into my hometown!

Beauty. It’s the light that shines out of people’s eyes when they look at you, you hold their gaze and everything else falls away. Then you see their true self and it’s just staring back at you. It is magnificiant and everybody has it. – Sue Bryce
